OBSERVATORI ASTRONÒMIC ALBANYÀ

At Bassegoda Park we are an astronomy campsite in every sense of the word. Our privileged location allows us to enjoy one of the most exceptional dark skies in Europe. At the entrance to the Alta Garrotxa Area of Natural Interest and with kilometres of forests and mountains, Albanyà is an oasis of darkness.

That is why, after some time promoting astronomy, the Observatori Astronòmic Albanyà was built and inaugurated in 2017. It is completely automated with latest generation astronomical equipment, such as the largest telescope in the province of Girona. The observatory installations allow the promotion of astronomy among the uninitiated, as well as for scientific research. Since the end of 2018, the observatory has worked with NASA in observation and monitoring tasks.
